The photos below were contributed by former member, Wayne Carter, an Aviation Metalsmith (AM), during his tour with VR-24 Det Naples. The photos depict activities of squadron personnel on an operational detachment to Soudha Bay Crete in 1956. Information is not presently available as to when VR-24 first began sending detachments to Crete, but judging by the rather primitive appearance of the background in the two photos below, this det may have been one of the earliest at Soudha Bay.
